August 7: 6th annual "Bluegrass and Barbecue" Concert - Angel Mounds’ annual Bluegrass and Barbecue concert, part of the Music at the Mounds concert series, returns for its 6th year! Come join us for food, fun, and music! The area’s best bluegrass artists will perform throughout the afternoon and keep on pickin’ into the night! Barbecue plates, as well as additional food and beverages will be available for purchase. Coolers are permitted after inspection. No alcohol is permitted on the grounds. Visitors should bring their own seating to this family-friendly occasion, which will be moved indoors in the event of rain. Event begins at 3:00 p.m.

Aug. 8 – Oct. 1: "Community of Artist” Show and “Art Books” 3-D Display by Stephen Cochran - The "Community of Artist Show" and "Art Books" 3-D Display is an exhibit put together by the Tri-State Art Guild and hosted by Angel Mounds State Historic Site. Tri-State Art Guild

August 21: Walk-N-Roll With CJ’s Bus - Angel Mounds is proud to host Walk-N-Roll, a 2-mile walk and 5K run to raise awareness and funds for CJ’s Bus.  CJ’s Bus is a rapid-reponse mobile unit that offers nationwide assistance in the aftermath of natural disasters.  It was established by co-founder Kathryn Martin in honor of her 2-year old son, CJ, and other family members who were lost in the same F3 tornado that desolated Angel Mounds in 2005.  For more information or to see photos from last year's Walk-N-Roll, visit cjsbus.org.  To register as a participant, contact Mark Rumsey at (812) 305-2268 or The walk begins at 7:30 a.m. and the run begins at 8:30 a.m. CJ's Bus.

Aug. 22 – Sept. 18: “The Tragic Life and Art of Johnny Summers” (The Irreverent Art of Matt Billman) - Come see the unique work of noted comic book artist, Matt Billman, now on display for show and sale at Angel Mounds State Historic Site. Sept. 24 - Sept. 26: 28th annual "Native American Days" - Angel Mounds' paramount event is back!  A culmination of everything Angel Mounds has to offer, Native American Days spans space and time to present a full narrative of Native American lifeways.  The event includes numerous demonstrations and hands-on activities, an Indian market, performance area, and concessions.  So whether you’re into music and dancing, prehistoric tool technology, basketry and weaving, children’s games, or just love to shop and eat, this fun-filled weekend is for you.  As one of the largest events focused exclusively on Native American culture in the tri-state, this is a one-of-a-kind enrichment experience you won’t want to miss! Oct. 15 and 22: "A Night at the Museum" Halloween Party - Returning for its 5th year, Angel Mounds annual Halloween party is night of fun for all ages! Due to popular demand, Angel Mounds is proud to offer the event for two separate nights of spooky fun. The party will feature games, activities, trick-or-treating through the Haunted Village, kiddie hayrides, haunted trails, a cursed tomb, and much more!. The party starts at 7:00 pm. Admission is $5.00. Volunteers Needed

Nov. 6, 2010 – Jan. 14, 2011: Cherished Possessions: The Mann Hopewell Legacy of Indiana  - Unlock the mysteries of Indiana’s past! The Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites and the Glenn A. Black Laboratory of Archaeology reveal never before displayed artifacts from the Mann Site, an ancient Indiana Hopewell community located in Posey County, Indiana.

Dec. 12, 2010 – Feb. 4, 2011: "Favorite Things Show" - The Favorite Things Show is an exhibit put together by the Tri-State Art Guild and hosted by Angel Mounds State Historic Site. The show's theme centers on a person's most reasured things. Tri-State Art Guild

December 13: "Holiday Party" - In celebration of the Friends of Angel Mounds and all of the volunteers who have donated their time throughout the year, Angel Mounds State Historic Site will be hosting a Holiday Party to show their gratitude. Open to all FOAM members and volunteers, the party begins at 7:00pm. Guests are welcome.
